Dr. Gumercindo Loriano Franco

Biography
Dr. Gumercindo Loriano Franco holds a degree in Animal Science from the State University of Maringá (1992), a master’s degree (1997), and a doctorate (2001) in Animal Science from the Faculty of Agrarian and Veterinary Sciences of the Universidade Estadual Paulista Júlio de Mesquita Filho, UNESP – Jaboticabal. He is currently an associate professor at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and Animal Science at the Federal University of Mato Grosso do Sul, teaching the disciplines of Digestion Physiology, Beef Cattle, and Equine Nutrition at graduation. In the postgraduate program in Animal Science, he teaches the disciplines of Intensive Beef Cattle Production, Animal Bioenergetics, and Equine Nutrition. His line of research seeks to answer questions about the nutrition and nutritional management of herbivores. He is technically responsible for the Beef Cattle Sector at Fazenda Escola at UFMS and for the Animal Nutrition Laboratory at FAMEZ and is a member of the Committee on Ethics in the Use of Animals. He is an “ad hoc” consultant for some zootechnical journals.
