Dr. Linda Sangalli

Biography
Dr. Linda Sangalli, DDS, MS, Ph.D., received her dental degree at the University of Brescia (Italy), followed by a Master’s degree in Orthodontics and Ph.D. in Technology for Health at the same university. After 10 years of working as a Specialist Orthodontist in private practices in Italy and in the United Kingdom, Dr. Sangalli is currently refining her knowledge of inpatient management with a master’s in Orofacial Pain at the University of Kentucky (USA).
Her present field of research is concentrated on non-pharmacological treatments delivered over telehealth, either applied to chronic musculoskeletal orofacial pain conditions or ongoing orthodontic therapies. Her Ph.D. focused on the application of recent advances in digital dentistry to remotely monitor oral hygiene and potential relapse of orthodontic patients.
Currently, she is involved in a project aimed to test whether sleep intervention and physical self-regulation training delivered over telehealth may improve sleep and pain complaints, in a group of chronic musculoskeletal orofacial pain conditions. For her project, she received grants from the American Academy of Orofacial Pain (AAOP) and from the Graduate School of the University of Kentucky, and awards from the American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine (AADSM). At present, she is a teaching assistant at the University of Kentucky. She is a member of the American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine (AADSM). She also serves as a reviewer for peer-reviewed journals.
