Biography
Prof. Mervat El-Hoz is an environmental engineer expert; who received her Ph.D. from the University of Sydney, Australia 1996. In consulting and industry, she is the Founder and CEO of the Environmental Engineering Consulting Office in Lebanon and Australia (2002-; 2021-to date) and the environmental expert and trainer for several policies and projects funded by the World Bank, USAID, European Union, and the United Nations Development Program on Air Pollution, Solid Waste, and Water Resources based on her capability and expertise in the field. She has advised policymakers, municipalities, NGOs, and companies on sustainable solutions to environmental issues since 1998. In higher education, she was the Founder and Chair of Environmental Engineering Programs at the Master’s level and the Founder and Head the Environmental Engineering and Water Quality Laboratories at the University of Balamand (2000-2020), Lebanon. Her academic and technical publications is recognized internationally. She is a member of several editorial boards and scientific committees of major international journals and conferences and has received several prestigious awards in international conferences and seminars.
