Ms. Arpita Chatterjee Shahi is working as Assistant Professor (Speech and Hearing) at SGRDUHS, Amritsar. She specializes in audiology and speech-language pathology. She is a Ph.D. Scholar in Audiology. She has also completed advanced audiological training in cochlear implants from Mumbai and Delhi and swallowing management in head and neck cancer from Tata Memorial Hospital, Mumbai.
She has 16 national and international publications. She has also co-authored books for speech and hearing management in hearing impairment for BED and MEd courses conducted by Netaji Open University and has published a Developmental Checklist of Children with Developmental Disorders in a Joint Project by the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment and COMDEALL Trust, Bangalore. The test materials developed by her have been published in various journals and are being routinely used in institutes conducting audiology and speech-language pathology courses.
She is a registered member of the Rehabilitation Council of India and the Indian Speech and Hearing Association. She was felicitated with the best scientific paper at the 1st Sound National Conference, 2018.
Presently she takes care of patients with swallowing and speech disorders head and neck cancer and neurological impairments. She has a special interest in oromyo functional therapy in sleep disorders.
