Development of agronomic management practices for different field crops especially rice, wheat, soybean, mungbean, mustard etc., water-saving technologies for rice cultivation, sustaining crop production with less water, weed management, conservation agriculture, cropping system modeling
Dr. Md. Moshiur Rahman is a Professor in the Department of Agronomy, Bangladesh Agricultural University, Mymensingh, Bangladesh. He received his M. Sc. Ag degree in Agronomy from Bangladesh Agricultural University in 1988 and Ph. D. in Seed Technology from the Plant Science Department of Lincoln University, New Zealand in 2002. He did post-doctoral research in Weed Science in the Department of Crop Science of Universiti Putra Malaysia, Malaysia in 2010. During his work at Bangladesh Agricultural University, he supervised research projects of about 80 MS and 10 Ph.D. students. He completed 12 research projects successfully and published over 135 scientific articles in different journals. He has been devoted to developing water-saving rice production technology and cropping systems to sustain food security in the country. He participated in different seminars and conferences at home and abroad.
