Research interests: ER stress, antioxidant defense system, redox metabolism, hypoxia, and heavy metals
Nil Demircan is currently a Ph.D. Candidate at Ege University in Turkey. She earned her Bachelor’s degree and Master of Science at Ege University Department of Biology in 2017 and 2019, respectively. Under the supervision of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Barış Uzilday. She completed her undergraduate thesis named “Effects of Arsenic stress on mitochondrial and chloroplastic alternative electron sinks in Arabidopsis thaliana” and her master’s thesis named “Effects of heavy metals on ER protein folding capacity and unfolded protein response in Arabidopsis thaliana”. Currently, she is working on the salt stress responses and ROS signaling in extreme halophyte Eutrema parvulum and is supported by The Scientific and Technological Research Council Of Türkiye (TUBITAK). Her research interests are ER stress, antioxidant defense system, redox metabolism, hypoxia, and heavy metals.
