Department of Biosafety, School of Basic Medicine
Professor Jintao Li is the Director of the Department of Biosafety, School of Basic Medicine, Army Medical University in Chongqing, China. She was previously the Deputy Director of the Institute of Immunology, People’s Liberate Army in Chongqing, China. Dr. Li received her Ph.D. from the Institute of Immunology, PLA, and then worked as a Project Principal
Investigator and Professor there. She visited the Immunology Department of Manitoba University in Canada as a visiting scholar in Dr. Jude Uzzona’s lab in May of 2011 for one year. Dr. Li joined the Department of Biosafety in May of 2018. Her research interest is in virus infection, host defense against pathogens,s, and vaccine design-based epitope. She successfully designed peptide vaccines in different delivery systems such as edible transgenic plants, Mimo-virus, LNP delivery system, etc. Dr. Li focused on dengue virus infection and vaccine design in recent years. She develops immune balanced dengue vaccine based on epitope design, which implied escaping dengue virus heterogenic secondary infection ADE effect. And she also developed a host-virus interaction platform to understand the fundamental principles of virology.
